Public Service Announcement: Uni Goes back Next Week - Here is my uni-ready Guide for anyone who didn’t know, or was ignoring that fact
Ahoy all of you holiday abroad, Greek Island hopping, Splendour in the Grass glitter wearing, Lollapalooza Lana Del Rey Listening and Netflix watching bored Perthians. If university is your thing, don’t freak out, but general classes begin resuming next week. Or maybe you’re already hitting the books. I’m sorry to hear that. Never fear, I know not everyone is naturally organised, nor cares, nor even realised that they had to enrol for semester two yet. Sadly, this winter, I fall into the bored Perthian category of the above list of exotic sounding types of mid year break people. So, despite how pathetic this may sound to you, I am beyond excited to get back to uni, get back into a routine, and have an actual reason, other than work, to get out of bed in the morning. And I mean actually get changed out of my pyjamas and into something a little more enthralling. So, I thought I’d harness my excitement for my upcoming semester of learning and immense organisation skills now, and write a quick uni-ready guide, before I look back and hate myself for writing such a thing in two weeks time when I already feel ten weeks behind. This post is my attempt at avoiding that feeling, and hopefully will help some of you out as well.
Recently, I got my first piece of semi-negative criticism back to my face. Admittedly, I was not 100% sober at the time, so the comment went straight in one ear and out of the other. However, on reflection, it did hit home a little bit more than I had originally believed. Of course, there will always be people who find what I am doing pretentious, annoying, self indulgent, and overly promotive. But I have never heard someone say it directly to my face. Of course, there have been sarcastic comments here and there, but I take it all in my stride - blogging, especially in Perth, isn’t exactly a traditional career path, or wide spread, at least how I am doing it. Elsewhere, such as London, New York and Sydney, it is literally transforming industries - publishing, fashion, beauty, interior design - you name it, you can blog about it.
My go-to beauty products and techniques on an everyday basis, for other women like me, who always seem to be STRETCHED for time.
You know when you accidentally bite the inside of your cheek and then for the next week you keep biting the same spot because you are being too cautious of doing it again and it just gets worse and worse? My life is one big accidental cheek bite.
